            Microblading

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup using a handheld tool comprised of micro needles in the shape of a blade to deposit pigment into the epidermis. This mimics the appearance of crisp, fine and natural hair strokes. Perfect for those that having thinning and over tweezed brows or those looking for a more full and defined shape.

What can I expect during my first procedure?

During this initial procedure you will first be numbed with a topical anesthetic for 20-30 minutes. We will draw an outline of brows to achieve the basic shape and symmetry for your approval. We will also color match the pigment as closely to your natural brow color as possible. When you are satisfied with the outline and color the microblading procedure begins. The entirety of this appointment can take up to 3 hours.

How many Microblading procedures will I need?

A touch-up session is need 6-8 weeks after your initial treatment and is included in the cost. This appointment can take up to 2 hours. During the healing process the color will lighten 30-50%. During our touch-up we will assess the color retention and correct any irregularities in the color, density or shape of the brows. This is where we really perfect the shape and finish of your brows. Without this treatment your results will not be optimal. On occasion a third touch-up is necessary for clients where the pigment does not take as well to the skin.

Does it hurt?

A topical anesthetic cream and gel are used before and during your procedure. Some slight sensitivity/discomfort may still be felt, though this can vary from person to person depending on your pain threshold.

What kind of pigments do you use?

Our pigments are produced in Germany containing only the highest quality raw ingredients and meet all health standards. Each batch is tested for impurities and heavy metals which means the skin will be more perceptive to the pigment and will create better healed results. These pigments have also all been sterilized to ensure your wellbeing is the highest priority.

Unlike other brands on the market that contain black (creates blue, grey and ashy undertones) and red (warm, salmony and reddish undertones) as their largest molecule, our pigment's largest molecule is yellow. This measn that healed results will remain true to color and fade into normal skin tone as yellow blends before leaving the skin.

What is the recovery process?

Your brows will appear darker and defined in the first days after your procedure. As scabs form they will continue to darken before gradually lightening during the healing process. Your brows will lighten 30-50% as the scabs begin to fall off. Do not rub or pick the area as it will pull any pigment out of your skin prematurely. Avoid wetting your eyebrows for 14 days during the healing process. Avoid extreme heat, jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms, sun beds, and excessive sweating for 14 days. The complete healing process takes approximately 6-8 weeks.

Detailed after care instructions will be issued to you after your appointment.

Can you microblade over an existing tattoo or previous microblading?

To microblade over previous work it must be significantly faded. Please submit a picture of your brows to info@flutterlashbeautystudio.com to determine if you are a candidate for this procedure.
